Physician on Call:
For your convenience a physician is on call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. After hours, one of our physicians is available to give advice for emergency calls. However, we do not  prescribe medication or give refills over the phone.

After regular working hours, our office also uses the Scottish Rite on call nurse advice line at (404) 250-KIDS. During regular office hours, our staff consisting of Registered Nurses and Pediatric Medical Assistants will handle any questions you may have.

Emergencies:
If you have a life threatening medical emergency, call 911.  If after our regular working hours your child needs to see a physician, please take your child to the Scottish Rite Emergency or an urgent care center. For directions to Scottish Rite Emergency,

Prescription Renewals: Prescriptions can only be refilled during normal office hours.  The on call physician will not prescribe or refill any medication after office hours.  When calling in for a refill, the required time needed is 24 - 48 hours to complete your request.  Our office will make every effort to handle your request in the shortest time possible.  When you are calling to renew a prescription, please leave the name and the phone number of your pharmacy along with the name of the medication, dosage and quantity.  No prescriptions for any scheduled medication such as narcotics, Ritalin or Adderall will be renewed over the phone.

Appointments & Cancellations: We make every effort to honor all time commitments and request that you extend the same courtesy to us.  If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.  It is extremely important that all patients honor their reserved appointments.  Failure to do so deprives other patients from receiving needed care in a timely fashion.  Our office policy stipulates that failure to give sufficient warning of inability to keep a scheduled appointment (24 hours advance notification during office hours) will be charged after the third occurrence (Charge - $80.00).  This charge is in accordance with our office policy for all patients and is to be paid prior to the scheduling of a new appointment.  In the event you arrive 15 or more minutes late for an appointment, we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment for another time.

Well Child Visits:
These visits are most important to monitor the growth and development of your child.  This is where we will discuss such issues as feedings, sleep and behavior.
They are scheduled at 3 - 10 days of age, 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 months.  They continue yearly thereafter.  We do require you to keep these appointments to ensure the healthy development of your child.  We recommend scheduling your well child visits 8-10 weeks in advance. The first three appointments are of the utmost importance, so you will need to make these appointments as soon as possible.

Sick Visits:
If your child is ill and needs to see a physician, please call as early in the day as possible so we can schedule an appointment to see your child that day.

Insurance & Payment Policy:
If you are insured by one of the plans in which we are providers, we will gladly follow the contractual arrangements. You must have your plan ID card at the time of each visit and must be prepared to pay your co-pay, deductible or services that are not covered by your insurance. We are pleased to accept cash, check, MasterCard, Visa or Discover for your convenience. If you are on a plan for which we are not providers, our business office will be happy to provide you with the necessary paperwork for you to file with your insurance company. Our business office is available to answer any questions you may have regarding your account or insurance coverage. For a list of insurances accepted Click here.
